Pound Falls Sharply, Dollar Gains as Markets Eye Key US Data

Pound Sterling kembali terpukul, dengan GBP/USD anjlok lebih dari 1% pada Selasa dan menembus ke bawah level 1.3800 untuk pertama kalinya dalam hampir sebulan. Awal perdagangan September dibuka dengan suasana hati-hati, memicu arus masuk ke Dolar AS (USD) sebagai aset aman.
Ke depan, investor menunggu jadwal data padat dari Amerika Serikat: JOLTS Job Openings pada Rabu, diikuti ISM Services PMI pada Kamis, dan puncaknya Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) pada Jumat. Meski reliabilitas JOLTS dipertanyakan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, NFP tetap menjadi rujukan utama bagi pasar.
Fokus investor kini pada apakah Federal Reserve akan benar-benar menurunkan suku bunga pada 17 September. Ekspektasi rate cut semakin kuat setelah data ketenagakerjaan AS melemah, meski inflasi sempat naik tipis. Bagi Pound, kombinasi risk-off global dan dominasi Dolar membuat ruang penguatan masih terbatas dalam jangka pendek.
